The people of the world are as health-conscious as ever. Advances in medical technology have allowed researchers and doctors to check, experiment and trace the root causes of various ailments. Advances in thow to take care of their health and shy away from getting sick.

The common risk factors are already listed and everyone knows it. Poisonous atmosphere bombarded with carbon and chemical emissions, a stressful lifestyle and an unhealthy diet. This unhealthy diet includes eating food that if consumed too much becomes a liability and food that is loaded with chemicals in the form of fertilizers and pesticides in the case of fruits and vegetables, as well as antibiotics and growth hormones in the case of animals.

This is perhaps the reason why more and more Americans prefer to eat “organic” food. All food is organic, but the real organic food, nutritionists believe are those grown without the aid of synthetic chemicals and grown in actual farms and not in industrial agriculture complexes. To support an educated consumer choice and a health America, the United States Department of Agriculture has come up with an “organic food list,” narrating food, food ingredients and food additives that are produced by farms the healthy and natural way.

The list is updated by every five years by the US Department of Agriculture and the agency has set up stringent requirements for farmers and producers to qualify for the list. And many farmers are spending, adjusting their methods and revising their products just to be included in the list and rightfully so. The organic food market in the United States has grown from $1 billion in 1990 to nearly $17 billion in 2006 according to a report by the Department of Agriculture.

This means more and more Americans are getting into the healthy diet and are conscious about the food they eat and where they come from.

The Department of Agriculture puts out seals on product packaging, telling consumers if the food passes the organic standards. For food ingredients, the government agency continually updates its list and is sent to food manufacturers so they will only buy certified organic ingredients to protect their organic certifications and customer base.

With the world not set to be cleaned with all the toxic gases and chemicals anytime near our lifetime, and work in fact getting more pressured every day, there is no stopping our bodies from to deteriorating, unless we stop it ourselves. A healthy lifestyle will require abstinence or at least moderate intake of alcohol, cigarette and preserved food. It also requires exercise and frequent breaks for the body to rejuvenate away from the smog urban centers and away from the blood-pressure inducing work load.

Most of all, choosing the right food is vital. As food fuels us in our daily activities, the right of food, from the right sources and produced the right way is the best. This will ensure that our body takes in the nutrition it adequately needs, allowing it to function properly and fully and for it to last healthily and longer.
