Study Ideas — Planning Your own Examinations.

Examinations could be easy or difficult, depending on your way you plan for your examinations. As the saying goes, in the event that you neglect to plan, you plan to fail.

Planning is an important stage in everyone’s lives. You plan for a trip and decide on the places to go. You plan your timetable daily and you plan to play one hour of Halo 3 tonight from 10pm to 11pm. You plan to sleep at 11pm, or your mother plans for you to sleep at 11pm. Planning is undeniably important so that you may make sure you’ve covered everything.

How then, do you go about planning your examinations and what qualities do you need to succeed in planning for your examinations?

The very first question many individuals ask is how early should I prepare myself for the examinations? This will depend on the consistency of yourself and the number of subjects that you’ve to take. For my university examinations, I normally plan 3 – 4 weeks of studying time, and that is if I have now been consistently following tutorials and lectures waec expo. If you’re a person who hasn’t been consistent together with your work, you almost certainly need a couple weeks more to brush up on your foundation. You should also be prepared to stick to your plan, else everything will fail.

When I plan, I print out the a regular calender with the examination dates written on it. Then I start with counting the number of days I’ve from now till the examinations, and I divide my time equally. If you’re weaker in another subject, you could have to sacrifice time off from studying your very best subject and dedicating it to your weaker ones.

If you have been consistently following up on your lessons, your foundations should really be good enough. Thus you can spend your time practicing on past year papers so that you may get a sense of how good you are. Do make sure to time yourself sometimes so that you understand how fast you can complete a specific paper. Past year papers from the ten year series, as well as school papers from other schools are recommended.

Do remember that it is more straightforward to focus on harder questions, than to focus on easy ones and think you started using it right, and then be complacent and flunk the examination.

Another tip that everyone should already know is to study for a certain examination if you are going for it the next day. As an example, if tomorrow’s your chemistry paper, study chemistry and not physics. If you have two papers on the same day, do ensure you can complete all of your studies punctually!
